Two short films.
and two very short films.
Birdlime (Simeon)
The first short film I’ve written.
Fully self-funded.
Filming gear borrowed from work.
A cast and crew who were in it purely for the love of the game (which was perfect, because there was no budget to pay them)
Surprisingly, only one fallout during production.
And one pretty interesting lockdown project.
The trailer is below, but if you’ve got 30 mins, why not treat yourself to the full thing?
The Cost Of Living (Samuel)
I was lucky enough to win gold at the Straight 8 Film Festival for my film ‘The Cost of Living’.
One camera. One roll of film. No retakes. No boundaries on the creative concept.
Tout Le Monde Est À La Maison (Simeon)
After finishing Birdlime, the second effort went into production.
So, during our search for someone willing to part with their cash for the sake of ‘cinema’, we got bored and made this experimental tribute to the double-edged sword of nostalgia.
I collaborated on the script with the director Charles, and also narrated the script.
Plastic Planet (Samuel)
I set myself the challenge of creating TikTok content using AI tools. The idea was to start a conspiracy theory (ever been on "conspiracy-tok"?) showing how sea life have evolved to cope with the plastic pollution surrounding them, creating a dystopian future around this crisis.
I started with Midjourney, generating images of plastic sea life with a carefully crafted prompt. I then took our visuals to Runway, prompting AI to make these creatures swim beneath the waves, bringing our idea to life.
